A Life of Service. A Commitment to Community
Who is Ken Carr
I am a retired Canadian Armed Forces officer with 36 years of service in leadership, operational and technical roles.
After retiring, I continued my service-oriented career as Director of Operations for one of Canada’s largest private security firms. Now as a proud resident of Stony Plain, I am ready to give back - by listening, and representing the people of this town with integrity and action
Leadership Experience
My military career took me across Canada and the world, culminating in my appointment as Deputy Base Commander of CFB Kingston, where I led the day-to-day operations of one of Canada’s largest military bases. My leadership earned me one of Canada’s highest military honors: In 1999, I was appointed an Officer in the Order of Military Merit by the Governor General.

Why Stony Plain
My wife and I chose Stony Plain as our home in 2021 to be closer to family and for its small-town feel, walkable community and welcoming spirit. I currently serve on the Board of Directors at Westerra Manor, am a member of the outstanding Stony Plain Legion, and enjoy spending time on the local trails, connecting with neighbors and staying active in the community.
Why am I Running
Stony Plain is growing - and we need steady, thoughtful leadership to make sure that growth reflects the values of the people who live here. I’m not a politician, I’m a neighbor, a leader, and someone who has always stepped up when duty calls. Now I am ready to serve again - this time for the community I call home.
